With strong performance and pristine condition, this special pair of vintage tubes are priced to sell! Many tube enthusiasts began their journey with Bugle Boy tubes, right here at Soundlumia, and we believe that's the best choice they have ever made just like the audiophile friends among us. 

Sound Qualities

You get the "textbook" Amperex Holland midrange presentation that is transparent, natural and expansive, with a slight touch of warmth that illuminates your musical world. The top end is super airy, smooth and nicely extended like one would expect from the best Siemens tubes. Vocals are intimate, sweet and forward (but not right in your face) and that always reminds me how the vocals sound on the best Mullard tubes. Bass is deep and well controlled and the accuracy feels very similar to the high end German ECC82's (Siemens, Telefunken.)

The pair worked wonderfully and sounded terrific in our professional studio setup for monitoring.

Our full tube sound review was written 100% based on the actual listening experience while this pair of tubes were running in the system described above.

Professional testing & sound evaluation

This set was tested and certified by RoeTest V11 tester with the following result: 

Tube 1: 

Measured transconductance (GM): 2.69/2.78 mA/V  - 100%/103%  (100% = 2.7 mA/V)
Measured plate current (IA): 6.422/6.895 mA  - 107%/115%  (100% = 6 mA)

Tube 2:

Measured transconductance (GM): 2.56/2.78 mA/V  - 95%/103%  (100% = 2.7 mA/V)
Measured plate current (IA): 5.642/6.445 mA  - 94%/107%  (100% = 6 mA)

NO shorts, leakage or gas. NO noise or microphonics.

Appearance & cosmetic condition

we treasure this pair because the pristine cosmetic condition the two tubes are in - over 90% of the paint is intact. The identical Heerlen date codes etched on glass are perfectly visible on both tubes:
